"A great place to learn and grow and find your way. A wonderful supportive trainer with horses that you can trust, and believe in encouragement and a true desire to work and play with their rider."

"Miss Katherine is a dedicated, patient, and thoughtful instructor to my twin six years olds, who started out hesitant but now confidently care for and ride their beloved pony Checkers each week. We highly recommend!"

"Katherine is a phenomenal instructor! I grew up riding horses in Colorado and when my 5 year old daughter wanted to start riding we found an ok farm but then discovered Katherine and it’s been the best fit! I love the community feel this farm has created. Katherine is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and fun. I started taking lesson with her myself, as I’ve never been on an English saddle. Her coaching is easy to understand and she really brings out the confidence in her riders. Of course I have to mention how amazing all the horses are on the farm!! Each one full of personality and very healthy well loved horses. I highly recommend lessons with Katherine for kids and grown ups too!!"

My daughters and I have been riding at Pony Pals since fall 2021 and we are so happy we've found our horsey home with Katherine! Not only do we have weekly lessons that are challenging and yet always fun, it is also a place for community. My 12 year-old has been welcomed as a "Barn Leader" and embraces her role as an important part of keeping the barn running - along with other kids and adults of varying ages, she works at the barn at least twice a week, doing chores and helping with the lessons for younger kids. I've watched her sense of responsibility and independence grow from this experience; Katherine trusts her with big jobs and she has jumped into the role in ways that have surprised and impressed me. She loves being surrounded by other horse-lovers and she is growing so much from the experience. The environment at Pony Pals is all I had hoped for when I got back into riding after a 25+ year absence and it is just the kind of experience I had dreamed of being able to give my horse-loving daughters

My eight year old twins have been riding with Miss Katherine for the past two years, during which time we have witnessed phenomenal growth and development, both at Pony Pals and from my kids themselves. From trail-riding in all elements to enjoying the comforts of a heated and well-organized arena, we have benefitted from extended physical space and enhanced offerings that include opportunities to ride on the beach, care for and learn about the animals, and even (unfortunately) accept the cycle of life and thoughtfully memorialize our favorite pony. During this time, as the twins watched and celebrated Pony Pals' growth, I was able to appreciate the growth I saw in them. My shy son became confident and competent with the horses, showing leadership and responsibility that he never would have developed during his remote kindergarten experience. His twin, a natural animal lover, was gently shepherded by Miss Katherine and the amazing Pony Pals' team to overcome her social anxiety and develop a toolbox of coping skills during the pandemic and beyond. The confidence she shows now --- along with her ardent respect for nature, which is fostered here---is amazing. We are forever grateful.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed taking lessons with Pony Pals for the last two years. Katherine's knowledge and passion for horses shines through in each and every lesson. Her horses are also such friendly and patient teachers. I highly recommend Pony Pals for both children and adults who want to learn more about riding and horsemanship

My daughter absolutely loves spending time with at Pony Pals! Katherine's enthusiasm and nurturing spirit makes Pony Pals a positive environment for kids to learn how to ride and how to take care of horses. What I like the most is that the students are able to participate in caring for the horses and ponies--filling hay bags, feeding, filling water buckets, sweeping, cleaning stalls, cleaning tack. If they have the interest, Katherine finds a way to allow them to help. The students are learning how to ride and are also learning how to care for the horses and ponies. The love that my daughter has for these animals is heartwarming. Watching her face light up when she gets arrives each week at the barn makes my day!

After trying two different riding lesson programs for kids I was referred to Katherine with Pony Pals and after one lesson I knew it was a perfect fit. Katherine is a phenomenal, educated, & passionate horse riding instructor. Her knowledge of being around horses her entire life shines bright in and out of the riding arena. My 6.5 year old daughter has been doing lessons with Mrs Katherine for almost two years now. Katherine’s approach is positive, enthusiastic, caring, safe and fun. She teaches a wide age range of students, as I personally have taken lessons with her as well. The confidence my daughter has gained in and out of the saddle is incredible and it continues to grow thanks to Katherine & her Pony Pals program. Look no further as this is hands down the best local riding program with the sweetest ponies!
