Lessons

At Pony Pals we pride ourselves on an atmosphere and community that is welcoming to people of all ages.

We offer a holistic lesson approach, where all riders learn how to safely take their mount out of the stall, groom and tack up. We teach a balanced seat lesson, where riders learn how to safely navigate the horse/pony around the arena at varying speeds-walk, trot (jog), and canter (run). Our emphasis is safety first, fun second!

Our lessons can accommodate kids ages 5+ and adults in private or group lessons.

Interested in hearing more? Click here to fill out our contact form (please include the age of the rider and any relevant experience they may have). To begin, we schedule 15-30 minute tours of our facility so that riders and caregivers can meet the herd, ask questions, and see what we have to offer.

Full-day week program (Ages 5+): Summer 2025

This program begins with drop-off at 8am, where our kiddos get to know each other and learn about safety in the barn and around horses/ponies. We all work together to get stalls ready for the horses/ponies, clean and fill water buckets, and prepare food bowls. After helping to care for our equine friends, we take a break for snack and outside play/games or crafts. Once we’ve all gotten our wiggles out, we groom and tack, with the help of the onsite instructors and experienced counselors, to prepare for our first riding lesson of the day. Our ride is followed by untacking, providing snacks to our equine friends, and getting ready for lunch, arts and crafts, or outdoor play. Before our day ends, we head back to the barn for our last ride of the day, which is typically bareback to build our balance. There’s still some fun to be had when our second ride is done, and that usually includes ice pops and a sprinkler! Caregiver pick-up is 3pm.

3-day program (2 sessions: ages 5-8 and ages 9-12)

Join us for a 3-day program! We’ll kick off our day getting the wiggles out in the ring or outside, where we will lead pretend ponies and hold races and dance parties. From there we will split up into two groups. One group will tack and ride for 30 mins and the other group will paint-a-pony, give an equine friend a shower, and, depending on age, participate in equine first aid lessons. Then we’ll switch! We will end with snack time for the whole group followed by caregiver pick-up.
